Effectively, it’s not a very well known or discussed topic, but I’ll explain the main steps right away! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The pelvic floor is the complex of muscles that lies between the bones of the pelvis and supports the pelvic organs<\/strong> (bladder, uterus, vagina, anus and rectum). It provides us with the sexual pleasure that we women crave and pelvic static (i.e., all organs remain in place), while also allowing us to retain urine and feces.
\nWow, that’s a lot of use!<\/em>\ud83d\ude32<\/p>\n

The pelvic floor of a woman can undergo alterations due to various causes such as pregnancy and childbirth, a continuous state of tension or menopause.
\nResult?<\/em>
\nYour muscles may lose their functionality by becoming too relaxed or contracted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To find out if there has been a change, I recommend that you book a visit to a physiotherapist or midwife who specialises in pelvic floor rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

Often, a contracted pelvic floor can trigger post-coital cystitis<\/a> (after intercourse). This is because a contraction of the muscles that surround the pelvic area, can make it difficult to penetrate and lead to the creation of micro-lesions: a passageway for bacteria to enter!<\/p>\n
