Cystitis is a pesky infection that can easily ruin a woman’s day and life. It may sound like an exaggeration, but only those who have had it can understand how crippling it is.
That’s why it’s important not to wait for our condition to worsen before deciding to do something about it.

The severity of these symptoms depends on a variety of factors:

  • The immune system’s ability to defend itself.
  • Age.
  • Presence of other pre-existing pathologies.
  • Specific area where the infection is located.

What are the symptoms of cystitis?

The most common symptoms of cystitis are:

  • Frequent and urgent urination.

You always have to pee. Cystitis often results from an infection that irritates the walls of the bladder. The arrival of urine in the bladder can cause further irritation on the walls, already sensitized by the infection. Therefore, the bladder tries to make sure that the urine is expelled as soon as possible generating the sensation of urinary urgency, even when the amount of urine is small.

  • Pain or burning during urination

Peeing is painful. The infection can cause your urine pH to change and become more acidic, causing burning or a painful sensation when you pee. Also, the longer urine is held in the bladder, the more easily bacteria can reproduce, making subsequent urination even more unpleasant.

  • Cloudy, dark, or foul-smelling urine.

In addition, if you add the bad habit of not hydrating enough, the urine becomes even more concentrated and smelly.

  • Pelvic pain

Pelvic pain develops when the infection becomes severe, triggering significant inflammation on the urinary tract walls.

Other less common symptoms, which denote the presence of an infection that requires immediate medical attention, are:

  • Blood in urine.
  • Fever.
  • Flu Symptoms.
  • Pain in the lower back.

These signs may indicate anextension of the infectious process to the kidneys, so if they are present, it is important to contact your doctor immediately.
